Congratulations, Welcome to the Interview Circus

A satirical story of the job interview that would not end.

After a layoff, Avery Cole is ready to get back to work. He finds a regional operations opening at Harborlight Dental Group—and a hiring process that keeps adding another round. The portal asks for information he already supplied. The job description seems to want several people at once. Interviews turn into auditions, a panel, a weekend case study, reference checks, salary questions, and a long stretch of silence.

The hiring gauntlet

Inside the story

Avery is not just trying to win an offer. He is deciding whether the organization on the other side of the process is one he can trust. With dry humor and real sympathy for the candidate, the story asks what hiring looks like when the process starts treating a person like paperwork.

The first Avery Cole story. Book Two continues after he accepts the Harborlight role.

About the series: All three books follow Avery Cole at Harborlight Dental Group. The interview, the job without training, and the threat to his position form one continuing story. The characters and organization are fictional.
